LOS ANGELES - Paul Pierce scored 32 points, Kevin Garnett had 18 points and 13 rebounds playing with a large bandage on wound caused by Pau on his head, and the Boston Celtics won 109-96 Sunday to Los Angeles Lakers despite Kobe Bryant scored 41 points.
Ray Allen scored 21 points the Celtics in the first confrontation between longtime adversaries since Los Angeles rallied from 13 points to win by 83-79 to Boston in the seventh game of the series of the NBA championship last June, ending the same in a dramatic way.
Bryant got his point 27,000, but could not turn to his teammates and lost to the best team in the AL East.
The English Pau Gasol had 12 points for the Lakers, who lost for the fourth time in their last seven games.
